LEGAL EXPERIENCE

Federal Clerkship

After graduating at the top of his class from Georgetown Law, Mr. Weiner accepted an immensely competitive and prestigious federal clerkship in the United States District Court–a position that was offered to less than 5% of his graduating class. During this employment with the United States Courts, Mr. Weiner conducted legal research and drafted judicial opinions in various civil and criminal cases, as well as worked closely with his federal judge, the Honorable Robert C. Chambers, during courtroom proceedings including trials, motions hearings, plea hearings, and sentencings. Throughout his clerkship, Mr. Weiner worked on various high stakes civil cases–such as lawsuits involving breach of contract, Title IX violations, Section 1983 violations, and employment discrimination–as well as criminal cases ranging from drug distribution to child pornography possession.

Department of Justice

Following his federal clerkship, Mr. Weiner accepted a position with the Department of Justice to become an Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C.–a position Yale Law School refers to as “highly sought after,” for which “competition is fierce.”

While at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Mr. Weiner worked on both criminal and civil matters. In the Criminal Section Mr. Weiner was responsible for handling and overseeing all stages of criminal investigations and prosecutions, including conducting trials and detention hearings in the District of Columbia. In the Civil Division Mr. Weiner represented the United States, its agencies, and employees at the trial level and on appeal in both federal and state court in civil actions involving claims asserted pursuant to the United States Constitution, Administrative Procedure Act, Federal employment discrimination laws, Federal Tort Claims Act, Freedom of Information Act, and other laws. Mr. Weiner lead mediations, negotiated settlements, and drafted countless briefs in federal court, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, replies in support thereof, and oppositions to various motions.

Armed with an exceptional legal eduction and the rare experience gained from clerking in federal court and representing the United States at the Department of Justice, Mr. Weiner now uses his significant legal knowledge and insider view of the court system for your benefit.
